There is a big difference between a 'personal attack' and generalised statements aimed at a 'percieved group' of people.

If you have been personally attacked on YA, defend yourself if you wish.

If you are taking a general, ignorant statement on board aimed at a percieved group you may or may not include yourself as part of, why let it bother you?

Lisa I agree with you, did you happen to see what I was subjected to at the tail end of last week?

I quite agree Barbie, how many questions have been asked this morning regarding why do pro or anti do this that and the other. If it’s a personal attack against a user, specifically I think that needs to be reported to Yahoo. I have come under a few and the disgusting vile things they said were extremely uncalled for and just showed to me that they would go to any length to try to prove that they are right.

Nobody should be personally attacked. I am not referring to you as I am uaware of what happened for this to happen to you but there is a minority of people here who post or answer is a most disgusting, rude, arrogant , ignorant way and I can see why it gets some peoples heckles up. To date I have not risen to the bait and answered in the same tones. I don' know if I can get reported for this but I am only repeating. There was a horrible answer relating to little Madelene and I'll just say it ended with words meaning the writer didn't care if she was chopped up in a Happy Meal. Now what kind of human being would lower themselves to say that no matter what views you have on the whole matter? Wonder if the person would be such a smart a-- if he/she had to provide their photo with name and address!!!

Hi...
I think the only subject I took to my heart was the McCann’s…..not the answers to my answers or to my question....the way people who support them look down to those who don't.

Is just a long story behind my very strong opinions about children and family life.
I know is not really what you asked for but I'll tell you 2short stories which will make you understand why...I have many others but this are really heart breaking for me.

When I was 7years old I went to the first funeral ever.....one of my friends died from septicaemia.
She had her appendix removed and soon after that she started having pains in her tummy.
Of course the parents ignored her saying is an easy operation and she has just small pains but she seeks attention......until she really started feeling bad.
By the time the parents went to see the doctors it was late...in less than an year she died.

A few years ago one of my friends said one of his friends was sent to jail for beating his wife so bad that she was in hospital…..
One day, while he was working, his wife decided to go to the shop thinking she'll be back quick and the child will be fine....but she left the windows open.
Unfortunately for everybody while she was out the child climbed on the radiator, fall out of the window and died.
5 minutes of negligence killed a child and destroyed 2people's life’s.

I always try to give my reasons fro everything I say and I really dislike those who try and ''force you'' in believing something you just don't.
I have answered many questions here at the best of my knowledge and in the way I see the world around me.
I try to respect and accept others opinions but sometimes is like.....goes over my head.
When I see things(said to anybody) like : you have no life and insults I get annoyed.
I come on this site when I can because I do have a life but I prefer speaking with real people with real problems in my spare time and not getting p****d or going on silly sites.

I dont let it bother me but there a far more sensitive souls out there who may take it very personally

and anyway regardless of if you take it persoannly or not there is no need for a VERY personal comment top be directed at you just because of your opinion
There seems to be a selct few on here patrolling this site, leaving disgusting comments, personal comments may i add!!!!!
Theres no need for it

Edit
I missed last week, was it that bad?
I had particular stalker 2 weeks ago called Lydia L
leaving vile messages everwhere!!!!!!!!!
she even emailed me about 6 times
honestly some people have far too muich spare time

I don't think the majority of people do take attacks personally. I just laugh off any abuse as playground antics, this is just a question and answers community, it isn't the real world, it's the Internet and I'm sure just about everyone has a whole life outside YA and only spend a fraction of their day here...and so it really doesn't bother them.

Because some people (quasi-sociopaths) spend far too much time on the internet and on sites like this and lose all perspective on what is and isn't real, what does and doesn't matter.

Some people have no concept of debate and discourse. They have not been educated in the process of it or have no real experience of it. The are incapable of recognising that disagreeing with someone's point of view is entirely valid - indeed is the ENTIRE point of sites like this.

If people get the knickers in a knot over such codswallop then let them. They are fools.

Some take it personally and some can shrug it off. I find that when people are getting violation after violation as they are not saying what the anti mccans want to hear then it's a different ball game. i've even seen a member on here brag that they have changed people views towards the mccanns on here and they are saying it like they want a pat on the back for it.

justice will take it's course and it won't be through YA.

numptys on both sides of the fence are picking on people randomly, causing as much upset as they can and moving on.
i have had an ongoing debate with a young gentleman for a couple of weeks, and, as his spite has evaporated is turning into quite a reasonable correspondent
trouble is he is an exception, most of the trolls are one step up the evolutionary ladder than the things that crawl in the slime at the bottom of a pond

People need to realise that this is only the internet, only words can be used. Nobody knows who anyone else is or where they live on Yahoo Answers (unless you are foolish enough to say). This is a unique forum for people to say whatever they like, and they usually do.

(by the way I live in Nelson Mandella house, Peckham)

It's odd, I cannot understand it.
And why one arth would anyone want to "hate" McCann supporters - I think someone called Door has this in his mantra. "I hate McCann Supporters."
I think it means there are lots of people on Yahoo Answers with very small and narrow minds.
