1-1 with a putrid performance against the Patriots. Where's the offense?

Schotty was the fall guy for the playoff debacle last year. While he does deserve blame for that choke (he coached an awful game), he shouldn't have been fired.
14-2 is 14-2. Playoffs are a crapshoot. It wasw a bad move.

That being said, it is WAY too early to judge this team. Losing at the league's best team is not shameful. NE will make a lot of offenses look that way this year, and the Charger's line getting banged up yesterday certainly hurt.

Also, remember that this team offensively is 90% LT. LT will have off games, and when he does, this team will suffer. Rivers has not shown the ability to pick up the slack this year or last, and this team lacks playmakers at wide receiver.

Give Norv a little time. No matter who is coaching, in today's NFL expecting a repeat of 14-2 isn't realisitic. Wait to see how the season unfolds. If they don't make the playoffs, blame Norv. but a lot of football left to be played.

Playoff achievement would not count lots because of the fact neither of them even reached a great bowl. Norv has this team declining. They went from 14-2 under Marty to 11-5 the subsequent 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, then 8-8 the 300 and sixty 5 days after. they are going to be 5-11 in this %., next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. and that they of course would not make the playoffs. you won't be ready to continually blame a coach for playoff wins. I assure if Marty hadn't earned them that bye interior the 14-2 season they could have gained the 1st playoff game. it is not his fault that they had any such good regular season checklist. And Kaeding's neglected field objective in added time of the 2005 playoffs (2004-2005 season) wasn't Marty's fault.

Yes, they should have stayed with Marty. Regarding Turner, he's great as an offensive coordinator, but lousy as a head coach. Also A.J. Smith should share some of the blame in persuading the Spanos family to fire former coach Marty Schottenheimer after going 14-2 last season. In my humble opinion, both Turner and A.J. Smith need to go. Bring back Schoettenheimer!!!

It was a stupid decision to fire Marty Schottenheimer. How can you fire a coach who led his team to a 14-2 record? Norv Turner is simply not a head coach. He is not. Teams are loading 8 guys in the box to stop LT and Norvelous has slowed Philip Rivers progression into a elite quarterback.

Norv Turner is going to lose control of the team pretty soon. Its obvious that the players don't react well to Norv. Bad move for the Bolts. They have to get it together.

Im a Chargers fan, though i quit watching game against the pats at half time. I noticed 2 thing, Rivers has had two bad games. He made bad decisions. I watched a replay of a int, he wasn't even looking where he was throwing. Second thing, i haven't seen Turner get mad yet. If the Chargers screwed up, Schottenheimer would blow up on them. Thats what they need, someone to light a fire under them. Just not say you will get em next time. I would of liked if Schottenheimer stayed, but he didn't get along with the GM or someone inside the team offices.

The Chargers should have kept Marty Schottenheimer - Norv Turner is proving his is a good coordinator, but he is not a good head coach like he already proved with the Washington Redskins.

Good Luck!!!

Norv is considered an offensive genius, however his powerhouse Os of the past relied on top notch QB play and talent WRs, neither of which the Chargers have. This current San Diego offense is built for Marty ball, smash mouth running game and a stout D. I was impressed how the Pats destroyed that Charger D last night.

1 win against the Bears defense that is - that - good.
1 loss at New England. Rivers didn't help them achieve much in the first half. Norv can't manage fumbles and interceptions into his game plan. 6 or 7 other teams will also lose at NE this year. So overall, don't worry. The Broncos look incredibly weak, the Raiders are garbage, and the Chiefs looks helpless. Meaning, you will win the division just playing above average football.

You're putting the blame in the wrong place. The coach doesn't pass or run or block or tackle.(neither do the Chargers!!!) The problem is the players not doing their jobs. Even if Turner couldn't speak English, the players are professionals & have been playing this game all their lives. They know their jobs, they just didn't perform.

They got rid of coach because he couldnt win in the post season and replaced him with a coach who could never win in the regular season.

Losing in the playoffs last year was not Marty's fault, that one was on the players, but they couldn't put personal feeling aside and let him go, I hope they rot in the basement.

And the Pats loss wasnt the only putrid perfomance. they stunk it up against the Bears they just lucked out that whoever touched the ball for the Bears fumbled it and they have the most inept offence or they would be 0-2.
