I don't think it's restricted to heavy metal but rather all forms of rock since the very beginning. It's not just a stereotype but reality. There has always been a much higher percentage of drug and alcohol abuse in rock musicians than in the general population. In this case, image = reality.

i think of it relies upon on the guy songs; what are the lyrics keeping? If the lyrics sell premarital intercourse, drug/alcohol abuse, violence or some factor like that, then particular, that's incorrect to take heed to such subject concerns. I do have self perception there are rock/heavy steel songs that are greater desirable uplifting (regardless of the shown fact that for the duration of all probability greater desirable sturdy to locate) and are o.k. to take heed to. i'm a Christian too, and that i actually love 80's music. As i'm transforming into to be in my faith, i'm greater desirable able to parent even because of the fact the lyrics are no longer any greater desirable beautiful to Christ, and that i'm attempting to divulge removed from those particular songs. even with each and every thing, as somebody suggested, there is Christian rock and heavy steel music attainable. God bless.
