No, the city would not have installed security cameras. Remember that many polling places are not city property. Schools, churches, etc. can be polling places.

No there were no such cameras. Where did you get the idea that voters were threatened and beaten. Certainly during the Democratic Convention demonstrators were beaten and arrested, but there was no need for such tactics during the voting since the voting wards were quite closely controlled.
