I have The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkein, paperback. Inside cover say's, 'This edition George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1966'. It has a print of 'Thor's Map' printed on the first page & 'Winderland' map printed on the back page. Does anyone know if its actualy worth anything, i know some editions are, but can't find an image of my book anywhere. Grateful for advice :-)

Best to take it to an antiques shop or a second hand book shop... it's only worth how much someone is prepared to pay for it... You could try this site: http://www.book-valuations.com/

I have an edition of "The Hobbit" like that too... I always thought it was cool just for being purchased before many had jumped on that particular bandwagon. It's old and tattered from many moves and many readings, but I love it still.

Don't know of any collector's price that can be put on it, though I suspect since you and I both have it, it's likely that a lot of people do. Though one never knows for sure! I'll just quietly keep mine and let you continue a search as that's what is interesting you at this moment. Good luck! Let me know if you care to...

Not much, I'm afraid. The Hobbit was first printed in 1937, so your copy isn;t a first edition, and paperbacks are worth less than hardbacks anyway. If you like the book, I'd keep it for its value to you.

I went to Alibris books online and copies of this book appear to be going for between 15 to 30 bucks. Maybe try Abe Books?
