In the video of James Blunt's song "You're Beautiful", what exactly was he trying to say or symbolize by taking off his shirts in the snow and putting all his stuff infront of him like that in a row and in the end jumping off into the ocean?...i didnt quite understand what the video was trying to convey with all that...

I think he is acting out his fantasy of committing suicide because of unrequited love - he hits the water on the last lyric where he admits to having to face the truth that he will never be with 'you'.

Not sure about the possessions though..some sort of ritual of a deranged man maybe?

I think, he suicide in the end of the video because he can’t be with her… I say that because he is putting all his stuff in front of him, most of the ppl who suicide make that and in additional the birds which appear from while to while.

I see it as this, by removing his clothes, he's letting down his outer protection and making himself vunerable.

By removing the things in his pocket he's getting rid of his possessions or material goods.

By jumping in the water, he's reborn.

Maybe he wanted to tell the "girl" that he would do anything for her?
Or maybe he was just running away from the "truth."

I agree with doofy....most people who do kill themselves do it without material possessions ...naked. Old saying "cant take it with you."
