Back when I was a teenager, my best friend introduced me to this diner in my hometown, and I used to go there a lot. Then I moved across the country, but would still come back on occasion and stop in there... When I moved back East in 2002, I started going back again, and it is owned by the same family, a father and his son run it... I go there once or twice a week, and they say hello to me when I go in, one of the waitresses always brings me coffee just how I like it, as soon as I sit down... I even get to stay after closing sometimes, so I'm definitely a regular and they know my name and greet me whenever I walk in... it's great.

There is also an older lady who works at the lottery counter in the shopping mall near my house... she always greets me by name and we chat about different things... she is very nice.

actually, a bar. i don't get to go there as often as i used to. but i used to go every wednesday night, they have a special price on wings and beer. most of the bartenders know me and these girls that i'm friends with always call out "dave!!!" when they see me walk in, like they used to do with norm on cheers.

and at work, alot of people know me by name since i've been there a long time and i have a reputation for always showing up and working hard. even people that work in other areas on the other side of the building call me by my name or a nickname when they see me.

it's always nice to know people like and appreciate you. especially at work, cause if they like you there and like the work you do, there's a much better chance you'll stay employed and maybe advance further.

Church....I sing in 3 Choirs so a lot of people know my face. I've been stopped a couple of times in public by people who didn't know. Plus I have a lot of friends that go to church with me.
