Shrek have 2 spaceships. Ship "1" flying in a speed of 0.84c (c- speed of light). Ship "2" is faster than ship "1" (no one is actually flying in the speed of light).
Shrek also have 2 machines. A food machine (1) and a drink machine (2). He want to activate both the machines and that they will finish their work simultaneously and beside him.
The "normal" time it takes the food machine to work is 2.7hours , while the washing machine takes 3.28h.
(a)What Shrek need to do with himself and the machines ,so he could wait as little time as possible combine with the machines finishing their work simultaneously (meaning who will be on earth and who will be on the ships).
(b) how much time will pass on Shrek during the above events.
(c)Using Lorentz transformation, how much time it takes (from the view of the one who stayed on earth-Shrek, or one of the machines) the ships to turn around meaning stopping moving forward and starting heading back

what i think is Shrek on the ship1, machine 1 on ship 2 (fster ship). using eq. t1*(1-v1^2/c^2)^0.5=t2*(1-v2^2/c^2)^0.5
what do you thing guys?

the principle of relativistic time dilation.

clocks that are moving with respect to a stationary observation will be running slower

use the formula

t = t' / √(1- v²/c²)

where t' is the time of the stationary observer in some inertial frame. t is the time of another observer, inertially moving with velocity v with respect to the other observer.

Your question is so confused as to be meaningless.

you need to clarify :>-
" ship 2 is faster than ship 1" .. so what ???
(unless Shrek is on ship 2, the existence of Ship 2 is irrelevant and can be discarded)

"Shrek also have 2 machines. A food machine (1) and a drink machine (2) .. .... food machine to work is 2.7hours , while the washing machine takes 3.28h"

OK, so how long does it take the drink machine to operate ?

Answers (as far as it is possible from your Q)

(a) If Shrek wants to be present when all machines finish operating, he must be at the same location as all machines.

Where he is = on Earth, on ship (1) or ship (2), is irrelevant AS FAR AS SHREK is concerned .. because ALL TIME TO HIM IS THE SAME.

(b) Plainly 3.28 hours (assuming the drinks machine takes less than 3.28 hrs to operate) RELATIVE TO SHREK (no matter where he is .. if the machines were on the SLOW ship, time dilation would be 45.74% .. however this is no use to Shrek because he has to be where the machines are)

(c) Impossible to calculate since the type of propulsion system used by the ships has not been detailed, nor has their starting distance from Earth.

For example, assuming the ships are equipped with Bussard Ramjet (or similar) that is capable of delivering continuous 1G thrust (with no change in mass of the ship) and that the Ships started from Earth and the Washing machine was started as soon as the SLOW shop reached 0.84 C,

THEN, for the SLOW ship to slow down from 0.84 C to stop will take approx 8.14 years. To speed up again (to 0.84C) another 8.14 years & finally slow down again another 8.14, making approx 24.5 years (Earth time)

The FAST ship will take less time.

All times given are RELATIVE to Earth.
