Amnesty is a horrible policy.
Not wanting to stop illegals from crossing is horrific policy (terrorist know they can come in anytime they want).
Immigration control and border security should be a "no brainer".

Our immigration laws had been effective until Reagan ignored them. Once that first amnesty took place, the effect snowballed into what we see it today.
There is nothing wrong with controlling who gets into the country and who doesnt- especially in these times.
The problem is the enforcement of laws is low or non-existent. The rewards for breaking our laws are greater than following our laws, so until that changes our illegal immigration problem has just begun.
Democrats have stalled everything on this issue to pander, but the real fruit of their labor will be harvested in a death toll from attacks within our borders. They will blame Republicans and continue wreaking havoc in this country since Democrats have had no ideas on the issue other than to let everyone come to create a huge margin.
For every 1000 illegal immigrants that enter the country, the bar Democrats use to say "there is a wide margin between the rich and poor" moves.

They don't need to be scrapped. They need to be enforced. That's the real problem. We already have good laws in place, including penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegals, but these laws are not properly and consistently enforced.
Every once in a while on TV you will see a "bust" where people are hauled off, but these are very sporadic and occasional, mostly for show, to try and convince people that action is being taken when it really isn't.

Its the companies that hire them,,, they are breaking 7 felony laws and the government left and right are not acting,,, In our state Labor and Industries is not inspecting job sites .. for workers not covered with workers insurance I dont know why they rape us white guys .. but ignore total tax evation by the builders hiring entire platts with illegals.. someone has to be paying off our officials.... its not the guy who is poverty stricken and has to travel 1200 miles to works fault.. hes starving... if the jobs dry up they will go home...
