You could try camping in No Mans Land.... The battle ground of WW1!!!!
Or how about in the forests of Nottingham? (England)
Sleeping in a Graveyard isnt really that scary as It is sacred ground (technically if your religious) and means that spirits, Ghosts, demons and alike arent welcome.
Look for an old Oak Tree near a small village that would have been used to hang people.... Now there could be an interesting night!!!

Dont know anywhere but what a fantastic idea!
Wish I'd done that before we had kids!
We go camping anyway in summer months but think kids would freak out if we went round Halloween!

If you are in the UK, try Whitby Abbey. You can pitch your tent close to the cliff and scare the hell out of yourself whenever you look at the eerie green light that illuminates the Abbey. It's even scarier whenit is foggy. Regardless of where you are, find a large wood / forest and go as deep inside as you dare to.
