When your body is healthy it is easier to conceive. If you are eating a well balanced diet and excersizing you body will be in better shape to get pregnant. If your doctor told you to lose weight, you should probably listen. Or at least get on a healthier diet.

Also start taking prenatal vitamins.

Only other thing I can suggest is lots of sex. Make sure you elevate your pelvis after ejaculation to help his little swimmers move in the right direction.

Good luck.

If a woman is overweight her body automatically protects itself in order to keep itself alive. It shuts out anything else that could jeopardize its health. It is already under strain and realises a pregnany could put both baby and mother at risk. I don't know how much weight your doctor has told you to lose, but you can do it! I have lost 30kg's (about 55pds) byeating healthy small meals regularly and exercising, like walking heaps, weights, and body balance (a mixture of yoga, pilates and tai chi - the best work out that relaxes you also). Joining a gym is a great motivation to lose weight.
Other women that are large may have been trying for a long time too to fall pregnant, but think about how much strain a pregnancy can put on the body and that it is in your best interest to be as healthy as possible to give your baby the best start and you the energy to look after it.

Best of luck and baby dust!!

Appart from the obvious ;)

Yes losing weight will help- often only a kilo or two will do it. Being overweight can do really funky things to your hormones. As well as being a risk factor during the pregnancy itself.

It is possible to be overweight and get pregnant- just realise that your chances are lower each cycle. Some IVF clinics will also not take you if you are overweight as your chances are lower.

Some other things to try could be FAM (check www.ovusoft.com) which is basically learning when you are at your most fertile and taking advantage of it.

Two things to think about. It is easier to get pregnant if you are in the 'normal' range for BMI and it is safer for you and the baby too as "maternal obesity during pregnancy puts both mom and baby at risk"

Lose weight before you concieve and start the kids life right!!!

huney, my dr told me the same thing, 4 years ago. i have one child thats 7 years old. i started trying again when she was about 2.5.
i got pregnant with her when i was 200lbs, and i was 278lbs when the dr. discussed weight loss with me. She told me that getting pregnant that close to 300lbs would put me and baby at danger. i rolled my eyes at her and thought the same as you about other larger women and their happy children. i listened to her and tryed losing weight. i was determined to have my children close in age and i used that as willpower. it took a little over a year to get back down to 209lbs. but here it is 4 years later and i still only have the one child. so i think weight has nothing to do with it. stress and worry can...
try keeping track of your months, write down everything from when your period starts to everytime you have sex and witch position it was in. try putting a pillow under your butt in a mistionary position. dont move afterwards for a while. keep a positive, worry free attutude. enjoy making love. you can also try the ovalation tests, you can get at your drug store. Good luck to you.

LOVE THE DOCTOR TOLD YOU TO LOSE WEIGHT SO IT WILL NOT BE SO HARD ON YOU AND ON YOUR BABY TO BE. ALWAY TO TRAIN YOUR EATING HABITS, SO ITS WILL BE GOOD FOR THE BABY.

MOST REASON WOMEN CAME NOT HAVE BABIES , IS THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RELAX WHEN MAKEING LOVE.

IF YOU COURT YOUR CYCLE AND THE DAYS AND THE TIME AND THE THIS AND THE THAT.

YOUR SYSTEM IS NURVES,
RELAX, MAKE LOVE AND RELAX WITH YOUR MATE.

AND DON'T HAVE A ONE QUICKY, HAVE A GOOD EVENING AND HAVE MORE THEN ONE CLIMAX AS WILL AS YOUR MATE.
YOU BOTH WILL BE PLEASED AND YOUR BABY WILL BE ON THE WAY
