For me the 60's and 70's were the best music decades, but with all decades, there's your cheesy, crappy songs. Thats just not gonna be avoided. Besides its really hard to define a decade of music in those terms, since its all a matter of taste. Its so subjective, its too hard to define.

the concern may additionally no longer supply adequate motivation for greater useful musicianship. Ha, I remember back on the Apollo mediocre singers will sing approximately God/Jesus with the intention to no longer get booed, which will or won't have worked for them. Christian song bands/singers and manufacturers would sense shelter adequate approximately what's being sung to no longer decide to attempt for greater useful the right thank you to sing approximately it. enable me say that previous composers of countless a lot, requiems, chants, etc did no longer have this situation. and that i'm in love with many of their works. If cutting-edge song isn't reducing it for then you definately I reccomend you look into Bach, Vaughan Williams, Verdi, and Hildegarde for starters.

I think the music of the 70s & 80s were fine when you compare them of today's music.
Today, the people care most about the look other than the words and who's doing the singing or how they sing it ! that's why we hear about LIP singing and GUESS what ?! NO BODY CARES !
Be ready for tomorrow's music and you'll be very glad & grateful about the past.

maybe because of synths and all those electronica. The 80s also spawned glam rock, which by today's standards seem cheesy.
