Get a copy of the upgrade (say an XP SP2 CD, not sure why you call it a downgrade when XP is better than Vista (or at least less worse)) then you install it.

You might also want to find out what hardware is in your computer so you can get XP drivers (which will probably work better than the Vista junk).

what type of ram do u have because now most ram are to be made for vista compatablity and not XP you can still buy the ram but it costs way more then the new stuff thats or i know right now......:)
