I am a frim believer in 1/2 inch roofing nails, placed head down on the pavement right in front of the guys tires. Every single night that it goes off just do that. After a few hundred dollars in tire repair costs, he may decide that the alarm isn't helping his problem and either a). disable it or b). MOVE. Either way, your problem is solved.
I had a neighbor who had a mobile BOOM box and used to wake me up (and the whole heighborhood as well, in the process) every time he went by. YET it was HE who used to call the cops whenever I'd trun MY stereo up above a whisper in my own home. He made the mistake of leaving his car windows open one day, I casually dropped a handfull of sand onto each speaker. The next time he started the system up, everyone heard one loud POP and never heard him again. "And much rejoicing was heard throughout the land"

Madpol, most communities actually have laws which state a car alarm which sounds for more than 5 minutes is illegal. I realize it is a small consolation indeed, and I commiserate with you. I am becoming violent when I hear car alarms going off and the owners simply ignoring them, they are too lazy to reset them promptly. We are living in a world where kindness has been superseded by "me first" mentality. It looks like you are an idealistic and incurable romantic.

I have wished that. I went and confronted my neighbor one time when it went off every 5 minutes from 3:00 to 400 in the morning. He tried to say "somebody must've been messing with it" and I replied "I sat and watched it for 20 minutes, and it wasn't happening.
He got all offended and said it must be the cold that did it.
I told him to turn it off then if it was too cold! He is the same guy though who would vibrate my floor when he drove by.
Guy had more invested in his car stereo than any other facet of his life.

The alarm is oversensitive while the owner is super insensitive..i hear where you're coming from. I always feel like shooting my neighbor who always pass by our house with his motorcycle triggering my eardrum to burst almost.
