Places like Walmart set their products up to get people to buy more than they came for. Did you ever notice that if you have to buy milk, you have to walk by all these other products first? Marketing!

I always spend more than I intended at Walmart because I will be walking through there and say, " Well that is a good deal. I better get that now." By the time I get out there I have spent twice as much. It was worse when I worked there because I would spend an entire 2 weeks paycheck there every month. I counted it up and it always equaled that or a little more. I said, " What is the point of me working here?" I wouldn't feel guilty over buying the CDs. It's good to treat yourself sometimes.

I am a Target person- I go there with a list of a few items I need and intend to buy only those necessities. But I end up buying a bunch of other stuff.
And no-you should not feel guilty about the CDs. They are something you will most likely enjoy and that is not something to feel guilty about. It's not as though you spent hundreds of dollars on something you'll never use. So enjoy them!

Yes, there's just a huge variety of goods to choose from.. I end up using up my salary savings on all my wants..
No, you shouldn't be feeling guilty after buying those CDs. You said you haven't bought any new music for months. It is just right for you to listen to music once in a while.. I listen to music most of the time. There never was a day that I hadn't listen to any music

At any store, they use psychology to get you to buy more. It is difficult to get only what you went to the store for, they always present "must have" items at a decent price and you convince yourself that you do need those 7 CD's or whatever.
I personally have gone to writing a list and only getting what is on the list if I am restricted by a budget. It takes will power, but it seems to be the only way to prevent buyers remorse.

Yes thats meant to happen! Stores put all the popular stuff like milk and Movies, Cd's, Toys in the back so you have to pass a bunch more stuff, and chances are you will pass something you want, and you'll buy it. Marketing Strategies! And buying CD's is good, at least your not illegally downloading them, your supporting your artist!

I boycotted Walmart due to the fact that they lobby the government to much and will do anything to make a buck including support illegal immigration and outsourcing of jobs. They also get huge tax cuts. They should pay like everybody else sense they are so rich.

I know the feeling. You go in with a list and keep saying to yourself and your friends that you aren't going to go ballistic in the store this time. No overspending. That lasts all the way to the groceries, and then bam! You discover that there is a ton of stuff you need and it's on sale! $150.00 later....
