In the Eyes of the Dragon
This is such a great book. My brother was in a bad accident a while back. He flipped his vehicle three times. I read this book while I was waiting to hear from my parents about him. It was the only thing that kept me sane. It got my mind off of all the scary ideas and thoughts about what might have happened to my brother. It really kept my attention. I recommend it a lot! The Dark Tower series is also a good one.

I love Needful Things.
Dreamcatcher is a great one, Desperation is one of my favorites, and I would definitely recommend the short story collection Everything's Eventual, it includes 1408(which was just made into a movie), Riding the Bullet, and lots of other great ones. I loved them all. Salem's Lot is pretty good too. IT is great and so is The Stand, The Dark Tower series is AWESOME! All of his books that I have read so far are great!
Pet Sematary is pretty good too.
Here's a link to a list of his written works:

The Dark Tower series was good, but very weird ending...
My favorites by him are The Talisman and Black House.
They're co-written by him and a guy named Peter Straub, and they're some of the best fantasy fiction by him. They're actually a series. Talisman comes first, then Black House.
I also liked the Tommyknockers and The Dead Zone. The book IT is a little weird at the end... even for King.
*edit*
Looking over some of the other answers, I can't believe that nobody has recommended Skeleton Crew. If you like his collections of short stories, then check out Skeleton Crew. I think it was one of his first short story collections, and it rules. It was also the first book of his I ever read.
Hope this helps!

The Stand is my favorite. Also try The Shining and Misery. Really, you can't go wrong with anything Mr. King writes.

The Stand.
Its a terrific book about good versus evil. I particularly like his use of Cities in the US for the good to meet versus the bad. Boulder Colorado for the good and Las Vegas for the bad. Terrific ending.

"The Shining"...
I may consider it best because I happened to read it on a snowy night in a new Colorado hotel that hadn't opened yet; I was just spending a night there alone for a change. Ha!
And it is awfully good.
