English-speaking Montrealers such as myself pronounce them:
MUNN-tree-all
Kuh-Beck
English speakers from elsewhere tend towards MON-tree-all and Kwuh-Beck. In French they're Mo(n)-RAY-al and KAY-Beck and francophones tend to pronounce them thus even when speaking English.

Montreal is very nice and modern, with great restaurants and architecture. Quebec City has European-style defensive walls and castles, and excellent restaurants. Ottawa has the coolest museum, the Museum of Civilization (actually across the river in Hull). It's more of a tribal art gallery, with more ideas for tattoos to be found there than you can shake a stick at.

Sounds like a great trip! Montreal - Visit the BIODOME which is next to the big Olympic Stadium. Its East of the city. Visit the "old Montreal" which is a small area of older houses, roads made of stones and very European looking. Visit the brewery. Montreal has great beer! Go "up north" which is about 2 hours from Montreal but easily done if you rent car. Go to Mont St-Sauveur, a ski mountain area but open all year round as it is a beautiful resort. A MUST EAT - its called a "poutine" pronounced "poot-een" its a bowl of home made french fries with a gravy sauce and topped with cheese. Its a must try! Very popular in the province of Quebec. Its fast food of course so you will find this yummy treat at restaurents such as "Mikes" or "La belle Province". A few tips - Montreal is a bilingual city but you will find some only speaking French. Learning a few words in French will help you get around and trying to speak French will be great if you want Montrealers to be friendly with you. - Out of all the seasons to go ... summer is great but busy with tourists but thats good too! - Fall is awesome as the trees have beautiful colors.

Some of these answers are funny and sound funny coming out.
Anywho, to hear an english person say Montreal it will sound like "Mun-tree-all". English person saying Quebec: "Q-beck" or "Kuh-beck". But a person who speaks English but with French as their primary language would say Quebec as "Kay-Beck".
You have to remember when saying Montreal you're not pronouncing the "Mont" as "mont" your saying it like "Mun" as the "Mon" in money. (Say "money".. notice you say it like "Mun-E" and not "Mon-E".)
Hope this helps. =)

Montreal, pronounced by someone of English descent, would sound like MON - TREE - ALL. For someone of French descent, it would sound like MON - RAY - OLL. (The last bit rhymes with "doll")
Quebec has two different pronunciations as well;
English would be KUH (as in "cut", without the ending T) BEK
French would be KAY - BEK.
Both words (Montreal, Quebec) have the most stress or accentuation on the first syllable.

From another English Montrealer, Goddess of Grammar (ALL Montreal women are godesses), has it right. In French the "t" is silent, and the "n" is almost is an almost imperceptible nazal sound. So it's perhaps better explained as Moe-RAY-al or even Mow-RAY-al.
