It looks wierd i wasnt sure how to set it up but these are all fractions. The underscore is the fraction line. its x-9 OVER 6 plus x+2 OVER 5 equals 7 OVER 6

(x-9)/6 +(x+2)/5 = 7/6

clear the fractions and you get 5(x-9) + 6(x+2) = 35

5x - 45 + 6x +12 = 35 combine like terms you get:

11x - 33 = 35 solve for x

11x = 68
so x = 68/11

your denominator is 30 ------ 6 (5)

take 7/6 to the left hand side, and use denominator

5 (x - 9) + 6 (x + 2) - 5 (7) = 0

5x - 45 + 6x + 12 - 35 = 0
(11x -68)/ 30 = 0

x = 68 / 11

Hi,
{5(x-9)+6(x+2)}/(6*5)=7/6
5x - 45 + 6x + 12 = 35
11x - 33 = 35
11x = 68
x=68/11 or 6.18

Multiply both sides thru by 30 to clear the fractions and it should be straightforward. Sometimes the books answers --are-- wrong ☺
