Anyone know the letters on drivers license eye exam? I need to renew my license and i barely passed last time. I'm not blind i just cant see letters 1/4" tall. It's not like im going to get cutoff by a news paper. Are they the same as a regular eye chart that starts with a E?

Simply take someone with you who can scope them out for you (easy way to do this is ask a question while friend jots them down as if he is taking notes on the person's reply) and then go memorize the line you can't read (At any DMV you'll have plenty of time to do just that).

I truly agree that a newspaper or tiny little green car with a little letter S is not in all probability going to exactly choose you to cut off whilst driving; and the DMW as all government agencies (due to liabilities, etc,) err on the part of caution so they make the standards extra hard/high. As for whoever thumbed down: If you can present a valid reply as to how the reading of a half-inch letter will assist in the lessening of traffic accidents, I will stand corrected and will delete my answer.

Oh, Dilbert, they change those charts up all the time so that people who can't see well enough to drive can't "fake" the results of the tests by memorizing a standard chart. You have asked about this a few times and my heart goes out to you that your eyesight is getting so bad that you can't see very well anymore and worry your driver's license won't be renewed because of it. Many things have become available in the past few years to help people to see better. Optometrists can fit you with things they didn't have only a few years ago....opthamologists can correct your sight easily. In the most kindly way I know to do it, I am suggesting that you go to an eye doctor as soon as possible. You may be fretting and worrying yourself nearly to death over something that an eye doctor can fix easily. I will keep you in my prayers during a time I know is so scary & difficult for you.

There are many variations of the chart. They all have different letters.

Dont' fool yourself, and get some glasses. You may think you see well but you are putting your life and others in danger if you can't see 20/20 behind the wheel.

Good luck and drive safe.

Don't be a fool!.

If you need glasses don't be so idiotic as to think that it would be right or sane to cheat on your eye test.

Man up and accept that you need glasses, you cheap skate!

best to get glasses...
if you need reading glasses to read better..
then use them to take the test..
if your eyes are that bad.. \
i would visit an eye doctor and have him
tell u what you need..
if all you need is magnify .. i use 200 for my vision and 300 to read... get my glasses off the shelf at any reading glasses display
but if you are the other way.. then prescription glasses is your only option other then laser treatment

The last one I took, had a bridge with 10 different sized signs on it. Each one had four rectangles on it and one of the rectangles had a black dot in it. You had to tell them which block had the dot.

good luck.
