What do they mean to you, personally? Do you like them? Think they are significant in today's world?

"Democracy: when two wolves and a sheep decide what's for dinner."

"A society of sheep must beget in time a government of wolves."

Let me know what you think! :)

Good quotes. They remind me of another one - "The beginning of the end of a democracy comes when its citizens discover that they can vote themselves funds from the public treasury".

All three quotes remind us that democracy is fragile, but on the other hand, I think it was Thucydides - from the world's first democracy, Athens - who observed that once a people had had a taste of democracy, they never wanted to go back. History has borne him out.

Accurate reflection of current political state - complacent citizens [baaaah! sheep!] allow the wolves [professional politicians and all those 'political operatives' who lobby and get the politicians elected] to decide what's best / how to run things because the silly sheep are "too busy" or "don't understand" / "have time to be involved." What have the wolves done to get the money to pay for their pleasure, [the pain caused by our lambs being sent to slaughter or coming home maimed] so the wolves can cruise around in their Hummers and waste the resources so future generations are forced to live in houses built of twigs...

That's exactly the way it is. The politicians are the wolves and the sheep are the American people. We are always sacrificed at their every whim!

Very much remind me of politics. Reminds me of the south park episode where Geogre W. bush calls the americans "Sheeple" instead of people. so true.
