I suppose it matters a lot how long I will be gone...
a weekend or week, I will take:
change of clothes,
toiletries like shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush,
medicine,
hair dryer,
makeup,
brush,
extra shoes,
pillows and blankets,
money,
pajamas,
directional maps,
ice chest for my personal drinks and snacks,
folding chairs,
camera,
and my debit card...

a cooler with food, food, food, and more food. and drinks. my knife - just in case. Tent, Sleeping bag, clothes, matches. More clothes. Necessities like t.p., soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, the whole nine yards. money. some rubbers. tires, i mean. :D in case of a flat. sunglasses, a hat, bathing suit and towel, shoes, sandals, sunscreen, MAPS!! chapstick. flashlight. bugspray. umbrella just in case, and a jacket. cell phone and charger. some music. That's all.
i don't think i'd go on a roadtrip with any of the above people but joseph. the rest sound boring.
