Do you think that it is fair that if the Patriots make the playoffs, they lose next year's 2nd and 3rd draft picks? I for one don't think so because the Patriots have a great well-built team that can make the playoffs and can win Super Bowls without cheating. Sure Bill has videotaped other team's oppositions in playing but the Super Bowl wins and being able to make the playoffs is all by the skill of a working team.

And now, one of the greatest teams in the NFL these days has to give up sacrifices to do good? Every team tries to do well and win the Super Bowl but now the Patriots have to purposely suck and TRY to lose so that they don't make the playoffs just to keep their 2nd and 3rd draft picks next year? That's not fair how they now can't try their hardest because they knew there's a disadvantage.

Today's win over the San Diego Chargers proved that the Patriots don't need cheating ways by Bill Bellichick to win games and make the playoffs.

Who else thinks it's unjust?

There is more just what happened last week, there will be more serious consequences for the Patriots. I feel like there will be more punishment going on for the Patriots.

Here is the article:

NFL will check on taping, radios

September 16, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL is continuing to monitor spying devices following the penalties levied by commissioner Roger Goodell this week against the New England Patriots.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday that new memos on both videotaping and electronic surveillance of signals have gone out to all 32 teams reminding them of bans on the various types of surveillance.

"It's nothing new," Aiello said. "We just want to remind people how the rules work."

In his first public comments about the incident, Goodell said before Sunday night's Chargers-Patriots game on NBC that he reserved the right to expand the punishment if he were to learn additional or different information. He said he believed New England owner Robert Kraft, who said he was not aware of the spying.

Goodell said he trusted that the Patriots would turn over all the information to the league that was requested.

"I'm very confident the Patriots are going to abide by the rules," he said. "They understand that the consequences could increase."

Last Thursday, Goodell fined New England coach Bill Belichick $500,000 and fined the team $250,000 following the confiscation of a video camera from a Patriots representative on the field during the season opener at the Jets. Videotaping on the field is forbidden during games.

New England also will forfeit its first-round draft choice if it makes the playoffs this season, or its second- and third-round choices if it doesn't.

Earlier this month, Goodell suspended Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson for five games and fined him $100,000 -- a much higher percentage of his salary -- for buying and using performance-enhancing substances. Wilson said he took the drugs to try to "improve the quality of my life" after living with diabetes for more than 20 years.

Goodell said Wilson's punishment was fair because he was "involved in criminal activity" and the consequences of the NFL's drug policy are clear.

The draft is not that important. Many of the big players ended up near the bottom of the draft. New England could also get lucky and the next two drafts have lousy players, which would mean that even if they had those draft picks, it wouldn't have done anybody any good. Who knows if New England wasn't still cheating or used cheats from past games to win this game?

I think New England should have been forced to play with a 30 second game clock, which would have helped prevented the offense from making adjustments.

I think it is very unjust. They should have received a much more severe penalty. Can you name how many 2nd or 3rd round draft picks are on the Pats? They build their team by getting people from other places to fill holes, not by drafting and always will.
The win over the Chargers proves nothing, the Pats have been doing this for years and just got caught last week, let things settle you will see.
I think that the coach should have served at least a 4 game suspension. What would happen to a player if he violated a league rule for steroids - 4 game suspension.

Yes, they are skilled in many ways. Yes, they cheated and should be punished. Just because you're a good team, doesn't mean you are too good to be punished. You're acting like since they won Super Bowls, they should be aquitted on all charges of cheating. When you're a fan of a team, boy does it show. You'll just say any bullcrap. Do you really think a team will TRY to lose. This is the NFL. Poor Pats. I feel so bad for them that they cheated and now they have to lose as much as they can to get a 2nd draft pick. Sounds stupid now that you read it right?

I completely agree..... finally somebody else says it. i do no longer understand why they're praised do plenty. they have gotten away with the main rediculous and yet all and sundry keeps speaking approximately how they're super. The patriots are the toddler of the NFL. A group it somewhat is extremely regarded at for no longer something. i could have self assurance that once all that in the time of recommendations, with the dishonest and no suspension etc etc. somebody can proudly say hi i'm a Patriots fan. That group is well worth no longer something...all and sundry will see.
