ANYTHING OTHER THAN NATURAL ,WILL HAVE SOME NEGATIVE EFFECT ON YOUR BODY, YOU MUST DECIDE WHICH EFFECTS ARE WORTH YOU BEING SEXUALY ACTIVE NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL MARRIAGE.

Seasonale has been approved as a safe method of birth control. So it is at least as safe as any other hormonal based birth control on the market. In previous ages, women experienced pregnancy more frequently, and as a result of the pregnancy and nursing, there were plenty of women who didn't get periods on a regular monthly basis for years. Of course, the reasons were naturally supressed hormone cycles. Seasonale simply supresses ovulation, much as if you were pregnant. Since women no longer have a child per year or so for most of their adult reproductive years, we have become accustomed to the idea of a monthly period being the norm. But as I said, in the past that was not always the case. There is nothing to suggest that women suffered as a result of it (aside from the obvious risks of pregnancy and delivery). If you find the idea discomforting, though, simply tell the doctor it isn't one of the options you care for or want to try. There are plenty of options on the market, and you and the doctor just need to work to find the one suitable for you.

Well, menstruating about a dozen times a year isn't natural either. In the past, women seldom had periods because they were either constantly pregnant or nursing. I'm now in my late 40s and I wish my periods would stop. I can no longer get pregnant and there are no health benefits to menstruating. In fact, menstruating regularly can make some women become anemic.

umm....to me that doesn't sound very safe...i mean just considering that when you are having your period what is happening is that the uterus is shedding the lining because that is a normal healthy function of the body....and while altering a natural function of the body this extreme just doesn't seem good to me. My girlfriend still experiences SEVERE and maybe even worse pms, she is on this birthcontrol you describe, even though she is not suppose to have a period but 4 times a year. i dunno, she does have bad mood swings so you might want to get on something that is going to keep you regular and healthy, but whatever you choose i am sure you will use your better judgement!! good luck
