I had a birth plan
A birth plan is so you and you midwife know whats going on who is going to be in the delivery room and how you want to deliver your baby ie standing, squatting etc.
My Birth plan consisted of having my Husband and my mother in the delivery room I also wanted a water birth. Come the day for me to have my son. I went into labour at 2 am got up to the hospital at 7 am still in first stage (dialating) once fully dialataed they broke my waters and got me in the tub ready for my water birth. Sadly this didn't go to plan as my baby went into fetal distress and they had to get me out and hook me up to the monitor to monitor my baby's heart rate it was very sad casue I really really wanted the water birth cause I didn't want pain relief but because i got out of the tub the ended up giving me the gas.
Having a birth plan is good but sadly they don't always go to plan.
Good luck hope all goes well for you.

I asked my doctor if she would like me to fill at a birth plan since I had learned about it by reading books and on the internet. She said there was no need for it because she would handle making decisions based on what was medically necessary. I trusted her 100%. We did discuss what may happen and how it would be handled. I packed a bag for the hospital and barely used it. Don't make it a big deal but I would talk to your doctor and discuss any concerns. The birth of your baby doesn't follow a plan. I had a great birthing experience which included an epidural, episiotomy, light vacuum to assist, tearing, stitching, and eventual healing from all of that. I had a healthy, perfect daughter. I was afraid of using a vacuum but it was necessary or things could have gotten a lot worse. No side effects. Just let your doctor know your concerns and what practices he/she does in different situations so you're not shocked by anything. Good luck!

Well I'm 34 weeks(just about) and I went to huggies.com and they have a birthplan and i did it and printed out 3;one for the doctor, one for the hospital, and one in my overnight bag. My doctor said that it was wonderful and she was thankful that I made one because it would make the birth alot easier. I like the idea that they already know what I want and everything just incase something goes wrong they can look at that and if they have any questions they just have to ask me.I found it helpful this is my first child so I didnt know what to expect at all and this gave me a big idea :D

The what to anticipate internet site has a extraordinarily common template you are able to fill out and print. right this is the element approximately start plans. they are superb, yet no longer consistently useful. women human beings think of they have those varieties of selections while it is composed of transport, and that they think of they might settle on precisely how issues will bypass. regrettably, no longer something ever is going as planned, exceedingly in transport. in case you have your heart set on particular issues that can not ensue for one reason or yet another, it will create a snowball result and your frustration might reason slowed hard paintings and a different develop threat for a c-section. each scientific expert i've got ever talked to approximately start plans has stated everybody who comes right into a scientific institution with a start plan will land up being c-sectioned. A common exaggeration on their section, particular, even though it does bypass a protracted thank you to coach which you quite might desire to be waiting and prepared to easily roll with the punches. I prepare a start plan at 20 weeks, revealed it off, and have not appeared at it on condition that. I parent i'm going to hand copies to the nurses on the scientific institution, and what they might accommodate they'll. I won't undergo in ideas 0.5 of what I 'chosen' and could ultimately be delighted with despite adventure I even have. Many start plans advise you have a call approximately having the lighting fixtures dimmed while the toddler is crowning and so on. they say that, however the well-being care expert quite needs the easy to do his interest. There are all styles of little information like this that is deceptive. i might say in case you attitude a start plan as variety of a unfastened instruction manual which you do no longer in any way anticipate to be observed, you would be nice. in case you start to think of you certainly have selections, you will do extra harm than good.

I didn't do one for either of my deliveries and don't plan on doing one for this pregnancy. I knew that I did not want an epidural (because I'm afraid of it...heard too many stories about it screwing up your back and legs) but other than that I just went into it with an open mind. I ended up having a shot of demerol and my labors were fairly quick and uncomplicated.

Never took the birthing class .. nothing.
After 9 and a half hours of labor, my baby (and me) came out perfect! :)
Nature will always take its course :)
** though I did get the epidural as soon as it was available to me! what a relief!**
good luck! God bless!

I didn't write one. I just knew that I didn't want any drugs and I was able to stick to that and the birth went splendidly. I would say, don't worry about every detail, just keep in mind what is most important to you and let your doctor know what that is.
