Yes its a true statement when viewed in a specific way actually.. ofcourse present is like an ongoing moment and like the flowing river.. however past and future are like big time phases.. one known the other ot known.. present hence becomes dynamic.. while past and future seem to be static.. However, just to view the statement with a different perspective, i wudn't call present "just a fleeting moment".. coz its the most important of the 3 phases- past..present..future.. If one learns to live the present.. one learns how to " live life" ... past is the teacher.. future is the mystery or the hope.. present is where all the work can be done.. hence.. its of gr8 importance... However, i do understand the persepective with which this statement had been said.. and its a gr8 statement when viewed with that angle :) Good Q GGR !

I don't agree with that statement. The reverse seems truer in that the only thoughts that can be made are those thoughts that are not about you. And that those about yourself cannot be made without the perspective of how other thoughts about yourself are different than the thought you made about you.

True, but the whole self is greater than the self sum of parts as thoughts for not self; the Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

well basically when you think of something else it always starts from a reference point, that is why when you try to describe things or tell story about things it always starts from your own point of view and not from the point of view of others basically because you don't know how other individuals think and feel about lets say the experience of watching the same movie you watched for example.

Yeah. Basically, its saying is that we're influenced by something. Nobody thinks about something for themselves, but only think through influences or being told.
Like a child. You tell them something is bad, they believe you and think its bad, until they interact with what ever is bad which proves thats its not bad.

Sounds like you need the opinions of others to rethink and shape your own.
