Congruent figures are the same and similar figures are similar. For example, you could have two of the exact same triangle- those would be congruent. If they were the same, but one was smaller, they would be similar. Or like this- M and M- those are congruent. O and o- those are similar.

you can have 2 similar figures that is not congruent but you can never have congruent figures that is not similar...
Similar figures are figures that have the same shape, they may have different sizes or figures can be turned somewhat..
Congruent figures however, have the same shape and size. Also, congruent figures are ALWAYS similar...

Congruent figures are exactly the same. Similar figures are similar but not on the same scale. This X is similar to this x... but this X is congruent to this X.

when referring to congruent figures it means that the object has the same size and shape. also the corresponding sides and angles are the same and the sign for congruent to is â
.
similar figures means that the shape's corresponding angles are the same while the sides are not but rather in the same scale in comparison with the whole shape or the corresponding side.

If two figures are said to be congruent if & only if their shape, size, area, perimetre. & all other dimensions are equal and identical
Two figures are said o be similar if their shapes are same and their correponding angles are equal.
Congruent figures are similar , but all similar figures need not be congruent.

Similar means that all of the corresponding sides are in the same proportion between the two figures.
Congruent means that they are absolutely identical.
