Where my cement patio meets the house is a crack, the house is brick. The crack is about 1/4 inch wide and the length of the patio.

Go to your local Hardware store, and ask for something called hydraulic concrete cement, it is a pre-mixed powder, you simply use a small portion of it in a bowl, mix with water, and fill the crack.

This cement sets up with in two to three minutes, so it would be wise to only fill small portions at a time, because you will not have much time to work once it is mixed.

After placing the compound in the crack, use a putty knife to smooth out the surface of the patio by placing your putty knife upon the surface of the concrete patio and moving your knife in the direction of the crack.

As the excess compound will gather upon your knife as you do this, then simply place the last of it back in the crack and ahead of where you just filled.

your can will have directions on it, also I repaired a concrete garage floor this very same way by myself, it was very easy, although the crack that you filled will still be visible to the eye, which my not seem attractive to you. simply wash the concrete floor with a special acid solution, prime it, and paint it with your choice of colored concrete floor paint if you wish to. and not only will the crack become invisible to you, but your floor will look like new for years to come.

my suggestion for paint is enamel.

Also if the store you go to does not have it, or has not heard of it, then simply go shopping for the store which does sell it.

It works great.

There are probably several things you can use. I don't know the name of the product I used to fill some concrete cracks, but it looked exactly like the concrete and came in a tube that looked like a caulking tube.

If you are trying to prevent water leakage, you might want to try a clear silicone caulk. I'd suggest going to your local home improvement store and asking the staff what they suggest.
