Yep, I used to have some in a 10 gallon tank with some community fish like mollies and tetras a long time ago. I would take them out before I swept the gravel tho haha, to prevent sweeping them up! But I don't know if that is what you're supposed to do :P

Yup, if you put them in a cage they tend to escape and dry up and die.
But really, ghost shrimp are a great addition to aquariums with small and peaceful fish, or as the centrepiece to mini-aquariums. Tanks with lots of plants is where they're most at home.

Yep, I'd just recommend covering the filter intake tube with a mesh filter media bag or a pair of nylons/pantyhose. They love to get sucked up in the filter.

yes you can, i reccomend getting colored lights and a different colored substrate (gravel) if you have a lot of them
