Hi
I have been at my current job for about five years. I was supposed to be promoted in January. however no I am barely hanging on with a thread and I am close to being fired. My boss confronted me with a list of issues, most of which were false. There are a few that I am guilty of, but I made these mistakes because I was not given appropriate information, and there was no way I could know!!!I was also reprimanded violating policies that do not exist. I have evidence to prove that they are lying..a witness and written documentation. My witness was forbidden by my boss to ever speak to me. If she does she will face reprocussions. I am being accused of things that I didn't do and company polcies seemed to be being invented. I am really in trouble! I think that the company is in finacial difficulty and they can afford to pay be. My witness has access to all information and will attest that I am being falsely accused. WHAT do I do? WHAT can I do...who can help me. Help

you need to call a real lawyer and find out. That's really the only advice anyone here can give you...the rest is just speculation.

There is not that much you can do.

There are lots of reasons why something like this might happen. Maybe your boss needed someone to blame for their own mistake, maybe they suffer from a mental health disorder, or maybe they are getting pressure from above.

Anyway, fighting it is very hard. Because no one working there can stand up for you without suffering the same fate (unless people band together, but that is very unlikely).

Ok, firstly. Don't fight it. The more you fight the more trouble you get in. Better to take each thing that throw at you and wait for the right moment.

The legal trick is to document everything. For example, if they tell you that you violated the organisation's policies, you can tell them that you didn't or you can send them an email saying "I am very sorry, I was not aware that this was the policy of this organisation. I would appreciate it if you send me a copy of the policy so that I can make sure I don't do this again."

Of course, keep a copy of your email and their reply.

If you need information to do your job, or you are told that you did you job incorrectly email them and say "I am sorry, I hope to do better next time, but I need some information so that i can do it better, please tell ....."

Keep a diary of what happens. List everything down. Them, if they try anything stupid you can confront them with the evidence. But what until the right time to do this, or it's power will be lost.

Basically though all that is going to happen is that you are harrassed until you start to make mistakes, insulted until you get angry and forced into a situation where you are unable to do your job because they are not providing you with the information or resources to do it.

Just like today we find slavery hard to understand, future generations will not understand how society can tolerate the fact that we let people obtain power to treat other's so badly.

But you have the freedom to get out while the going is good. If your boss wants you gone they may even provide a good reference to get rid of you.

Frankly unless you have a contract with your employer, there is nothing you can do. You can fired for no cause. Your best bet is to give this one up and look for another job before you are fired.

if it's a small company then GO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB ..looks like they are trying to get rid of you. If this is a large company then get a transfer to another department..

You need to start now looking for another job. They want you gone and they are trying to force you to quit.

Better start looking now before you walk in one day and get suprised.
