Ihave seen all the lizards except geckoes. Most of the lizards in Britain are now protected. If any lizard comes into gardens..it's all right but if anyone gets caught taking from the wild....?

In addition to Brainstorm, you can find Wall lizards in the UK as well, but they are not really native, they smuggled themselves across from the continent!

I have seen common lizards in the UK, but none of the others.

Watching lizards in France is great fun too, particularly when the males get a bit territorial and start chasing each other. They can run pretty darned quick on vertical surfaces!

Yes. There are three lizards. The common Lizard, the sand lizard and the slowworm which is a legless lizard.
I have seen the common lizard and the slowworm but not the sand lizard which is quite rare.
There are no geckoes.

Native Reptiles

Common or Viviparous Lizard (Lacerta vivipara)
Slow-worm (Anguis fragilis)
Sand Lizard (Lacerta agilis)*
(Endangered Species)*

The slow worms are a legless lizard native to Britain and mainland Europe.

The Common Lizard is native to Britain and widespread throughout the mainland, however their numbers have fallen in recent years.

The Sand Lizard is native and rare.
