The answer is..there is no answer, you would have to have 2 pages with odd numbers and two pages side by side of course, are not both odd.

I'm assuming that you mean looking at two consecutive pages. If that is the case, their sum would have to be odd. One of the page numbers will always be even, and the other odd. An odd + an even always = an odd. So it is not possibile for two consecutive page numbers to be 2162.

This question is flawed unless the book has missing pages. You will always have an ODD and EVEN page number showing when you open a book.

Any ODD and EVEN number added together equals an ODD number but yet you have an even number as an answer.

Proof by example: 1+2=3.

not possible, an odd number and an even number, which the two pages would have to be to be right beside each other will always add up to an odd number

2162 is even and if this was the case, the page numbers would have to be 1080.5 and 1081.5

Impossible, one page is an even number and one is odd so the sum of any two facing pages is an odd number.

x = first page and (x+1) is the facing page. x(x+1) = 2352 x^2 +x - 2352 = 0 (x -48 ) ( x -49 ) = 0 Therefore the pages are 48 & 49. A simpler way. (2352)^1/2 = 48.497..... Take whole numbers either of this decimal. ie 48 & 49

first do this
x + (x+1) = 2162
then
2x + 1 = 2162
2x = 2161
x = 1080.5
pages are 1080.5 and 1081.5

since those pages don't exist, i'm guessing
it's pg 2162 and the back cover

lol
