I would say decent processor and GREAT graphics!
Let's compare:
Core clock:
8800GTS= 500mhz
XBOX (ATI)= 500mhz
PS-3 (Nvidia RSX)= 550mhz
Shaders or stream processors:
8800GTS= 96
XBOX= 48, unified
PS-3 = 24 pixel/6vertex (estimated because SONY won't divulge)
Memory bandwidth GB/sec
8800GTS = 64
XBOX = 22.4
PS-3 = 25.6
Console graphics could just be comparable to the 8600GTS and nowhere near 8800 series. Sure, they have great processors, but I don't think they would even come close to an E6850.

You want to know if it's better than a PS3 or an XBOX 360, but that's an Apples-to-Oranges comparison.
The gaming consoles have a customized CPU that you can't find in home computers. The PS3 uses the revolutionary Cell processor, and the 360 has a triple-core CPU, both developed by IBM and others. It's hard to get an accurate comparison to today's desktop PC's in terms of gaming performance.
Also, your video card is a good one, but nothing close to the performance of the ones in the PS3 or XBOX 360. Realize that gaming consoles usually have the edge over PC's for 2 years after they are released, because they are using a specialized GPU that is usually a year or two ahead of anything that will be released for PC's.
And finally, the Athlon X2 is a decent processor but nowhere near top-of-the-line today. In fact, even the slowest Core 2 Duo from Intel crushes the fastest X2.
_____________
Bottom-line: If you had a Core 2 Duo with the 8800 "ULTRA" version, I'd say you'd be near the performance of either game console. But where you stand right now, you're quite a bit behind. My 2¢...

Decent mid-range gaming PC. The AMD processor is a bit underpowered and the RAM is a bit on the slow side if you're being nitpicky. The video card is towards the upper range of cards available today, although if you really want great performance you should look into an 8800GTX or 8800Ultra. In the end, not at all bad for $930, especially considering computers are capable of much more than simply gaming. I've long believed PCs are the best gaming platform available.

THe ps3 Has committed photographs memory and an Nvidia rsx GPU. able to dx 10 and previous. The xbox 360 is hardware trapped into no longer something larger than dx 9. builders are actually coming up for dx 10 (finished 3-D and 4d action realism. 360 photographs memory is shared with something of the equipment meaning the PS3 GPU capability is larger. while you're into procuring in basic terms multiplatform video games you will no longer comprehend the version by using fact they're the comparable. in case you play exclusives you will see a brilliant difference. Halo 3 super photographs yet is quite short on 360 8gig dvd activity format, it in basic terms takes an afternoon to overcome. on the ps3 Resistance fall of guy and Ratchet and clank strategies of destruction are huge video games with extraordinary photographs on the PS3 50 gig blueray format. HDMI a million.2 does not help the deep coloration that the ps3 hdmi a million.3 helps. So even the HDMI makes adifference.

Most likely not. I am not all that familiar with graphics and drivers for computers, but i do know that these gaming consoles are designed for just that, gaming. This means that they specifically aim the graphics for these machines to be unreal. Computers however are made more for function, not just entertainment, meaning that you may be able to do more with a PC, the graphics for the very same game may not look as good. I am a huge madden fan, I have played this on my PC and 360, and the graphics are simply better with the gaming console.
I am not saying that you probably couldn't gear a computer for gaming, but this is probably not likely for a computer you purchase from a retailer.

yes ur computer is better than 360 and ps3. most people think they have the best **** in them but they dont. only reason why ps3 cost so much is the blue ray player. other wise they are using like a 2.6g cpu and like ddr 3200 ram only at 512mb. graphic card is of course HD but i have HD graphics card in my machin.
why the IDE drive if u have a sata???? that is what is funny. but yea good machine.

Gosh - you mentioned everything except your video card (detailed specs) and working OS to name a few.
I would suggest you then to go to www.Xfire.com to have your gaming capability assessed.
For now, we'll rely on psychics and "wanna-be geeks" for their opinion. Let's assess their replies and enjoy!
