I never had a problem with it until tonight. I had Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney and a six point lead over my opponent, who owned the Charger defense. Now the defense forced two turnovers and got one sack, but the return yardage was enough to beat me in spite of Tom Brady's performance.

Next time I create a league, I will make sure that special team yardage not be awarded to the defense. Do you share my concern or have a different take on it?

yes. didnt you get points for return yards from your defense? you should have considered special teams when drafting your defense. adds an extra dimension to the league.

Yes, special teams are part of the game. Consider playing in a strategy league where DB and DL receive individual points for tackles. Personally, I think the points awarded to QB are overrated: the WR scores the touchdown...

I MUCH prefer the individual defensive player (IDP) defensive scoring formats over the team concepts. That way Terrence McGee can have all those kickoff return points to go with his defense.

Solves the problem - you can draft a receiver just for his kick and punt returns (Joshua Cribbs, Devin Hester).

You have to be aware of all of the scoring settings before you draft a team. If you created the league, you should have known the settings better than anyone.

It takes some getting used to. I felt similiar but reviewed who was available and picked up the appropriate people to account for these league settings.
