If I said I wanted our troops out of Iraq by 2009, would I be called a liberal on this forum?

This may come as a shock but I'm actually a conservative. I disagree with Bush on this and another issues. I also do not consider him a real conservative.

No one wants our troops in Iraq or any otrher location in harms way, including a conservative Republican like me. Those with low brainpower will while the rest of us cross our fingers and pray. I would like them out sooner than that, but I have to put my emotions aside and take the advice from those on the ground doing the fighting! They know more about this than I do.

well are you a liberal? theres nothing wrong with that. or wait, there is, but its just as bad as being a conservative so youre good. anyway, i did hear some report saying that we could have everything done over there by the summer of 2009. i dont know if it could actually work or not, but if it could then great. if the job wasnt done though, i would ofcourse want us to stay and finish the job. guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No, but I would say you're naive. The troops will be in Iraq for a very, very long time. We still have troops in Germany, Japan, South Korea. Why don't I hear people screaming for them to be brought home? Get used to the troops in Iraq.

It seems as if any talk of leaving Iraq is treason and siding with the enemy. Oh, and unpatriotic. Liberal is the best you can hope for.

Not by me! I want them all out of there now. Iraq is in much worse shape than when we invaded. Our country is much poorer and the whole world hates us. Most of all, people have died to satisfy the greed of a few, and I find that beyond evil!

Not necessarily. It would depend on the criteria you would require for withdrawal. The one thing I can't understand about the liberals clamor for withdrawal is the encouragement they give to the radical Muslims. If they just wait till a stated deadline then they can just resume their killing ways.

No, but if the war wasn't won, and things fell apart in the Middle East, we'd probably be back in a couple of years with a worse mess to clean up.

It would be great if our troops could leave tomorrow, but I don't think their mission will be accomplished by then, by 2009 it could be though, I guess we will have to wait and see and keep praying for their safety and success.
