If you don't think it is Brett Favre then you just don't know football. Nobody picked the packers to win more than 8 games this year and they are off to a hot start at 2-0. Nobody does more with less. The Packers are very inexperienced on the O-line. And they have 2 rookie running backs in the backfield and a rookie fullback. Also there recieving corp is very young. Jennings(in his second season) has missed all of this season and most of last season and he is their #2 man. Right now the rookie James Jones is starting opposite Donald Driver, who is the only veteran skill player on the offense other than the miserable Bubba Franks.
The only other guy that is in the running right now is Jon Kitna. Every preseason publication that I looked at pegged the Lions as the cellar dweller in the NFC with either a 3-13 or 4-12 record. Right now they are 2-0 thanks to the veteran leadership provided by Mr. Kitna.
Runners up include Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler, and Matt Schaub. But simply for the lack of talent around him I'd pick Favre.

I have to agree Randy Moss has looked pretty amazing. Andre Johnson has also been pretty good while helping the Texans to their first ever 2-0 start.

patrick willis is going to win defensive rookie of the year. i know its not what you asked but if you have not watched him play you should he is going to be a stud in this league for years to come.
