My car sterio was stolen last week. the thief cut sterio wires and may have cut others because my dash clock now doesn't work. Anyways, my car drove fine for a few days and now it starts okay but will not idle in Drive, Neutral or Park without my foot on the gas. I have a 1987 Honda CRX. Could the theft of my sterio be related to this problem? Ignition? Help! Thanks.

If it's a 1987 you won't get it scanned. OBD2 didn't start till 1995. This probably needs a good mechanic with diagnostic skills. Stay away from dealers. I wouldn;t think it would be related to theft problem but there are some things that are electrically controlled. The lack of idle but runs otherwise would lead me to suspect a vacuum leak.

if you can, take it to auto zone or advance and have them scan the computer on it,this might tell you why it isn't idling, right,it could have shorted something out, there's no way of knowing without seeing it,if you can get it scanned though this might help you in finding the cause for it,it may not even be related to the theft at all,it could be a sensor that has went bad on it,good luck on it.
