"Most important fact about Provera
You should never take Provera during the first 4 months of pregnancy. During this formative period, even a few days of treatment with Provera might put your unborn baby at increased risk for birth defects. If you take Provera and later discover that you were pregnant when you took it, discuss this with your doctor right away."

Provera is to start your period so chances are if you are pregnant yes it could do damage and cause a miscarriage but your Dr should know all of that so he must not think you are pregnant. A female body can have false pregnancy and make you feel pregnant even if your not. I went through that a lot while TTC and took so many tests that were negative and ended up on Provera for a few months and clomid.

Well i would suggest that you shouldn't take anything at all, no kind of pills or drug because if you do you would be at risk of hurting your baby. I am totally against any harm of an unborn child, even a born child. But don't take the drug because it is the risk that counts! And congratulations on your new baby!

If you really think that you might be pregnant I would definatly wait before starting the provera. The provera can cause birth defects if taken while pregnant.

your dr should have given you a urine test in office if nothing else. Before taking any form of birth control you need to rule out a possible pregnancy. Go to a free clinic if you have to.
