My boyfriend and I don't have sex very often but once every month or so. A few weeks ago however I started getting cramps afterwards lasted for about 3 days (from later on that night till three days) and then again a few days after that. I know that its normal to experience cramps 10-14 days AFTER you've had sex if your pregnant (so i'm not too worried about that plus we use contraception)but I want to make sure that this isn't something serious i need to get checked out or if its normal.

Pain or cramps after sex are always reason to consult a doctor. While it may have been a fluke, you could also have anything from an infection to an ovarian cyst.

check with your doctor especially since it lasts for 3 days. It might be something as simple as a hormone being released during sex that is making you have cramps but it could be something more serious.

No matter what you need to see your doctor. You never want to self diagnose or listen to undereducated answers with this type of problem. I'm not saying that it's serious, I'm just saying that it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!
