why in the WORLD was captain picard who was french but he spoke with a british accent? and paramount has never explained it.

Note that his brother ALSO spoke with a British accent.

Perhaps by that time in the future, all of Europe speaks with British accent ?

Or perhaps the UK has reconquered that part of France ?

Or perhaps Roddenberry couldn't tell the difference between England and France ?

Picard went to Starfleet Acadamey at an early age. He take command of the Enterprise at the age of 59 so maybe he had time to lose his accent by then?
