I had a female mechanic as my partner in college and she's one of the best mechanics I've ever seen. I hear so much how woman and men cannot do things that the other sexes can do. Let's see how many people can work this out without insulting any one gender. Keep in mind, that I am a stay at home husband as well. (Yes, I do have an income in case you're wondering.)

1. Female or Male mechanic.
2. Female or Male housewife/husband
3. Female or Male pilot
4. Female or Male boss
5. Female or Male babysitter
6. Female or Male police officer
7. Female or Male nurse
8. Female or Male teacher
9. Female or Male truck driver
10. Female or Male scientist.

My answers are 1. Female, 2. Either, 3. Either, 4. Neither, 5. Neither, 6. Either, 7. Male, 8. Female, 9. Female, 10. Female.
I chose neither for 5 because we've never had a babysitter and we never will. I'm not as trusting as most others are.

1) female (because I've had too many male mechanics attempt to rip me off because I am female)
2) either (both are equally is good)
3) male (science proves men think faster.. I'd rather have a pilot who can think through different scenarios if the plane getting ready to crash, they act on logic and not emotion)
4) female (because females don't tend to get on ego trips as often as males.. there are exceptions to the rules but I personally feel more comfortable)
5) female (because they're less likely to be pedophiles)
6) male (I'd rather have a male breaking up a fight then a female.. men are more protective by nature)
7) female (because if I have to use a bedpan, I don't want a male near me!)
8) male (they will tend to explain more for some reason, in my experience)
9) male (because in adults, males really are the better drivers.. even though I'd deny this if you tell my husband!)
10) either

There are exceptions to the rules. I've had wonderful female teachers and wonderful male nurses. I know women who are excellent drivers (me being one of them) and I've known 1 or 2 male mechanics that never ripped me off. I've have horrible female bosses and known wonderful male babysitters. But just going with the majority of my experiences, these are my answers.

I read through your list & I can't see the difference. As long as the individual is qualified and you trust their abilities. I can't see where gender would make a difference.
As for # 5, I've had male & female baby sitters from time to time and there has never been a problem. I don't trust everyone under the sun, but I certainly check references thoroughly.

Either for all. As far as babysitting goes the only difference is how well I know the person watching my kids not the gender.

the only issue i have is with a male nurse. i don't know why exactly. probably due to a bad experience once. all the rest, i don't care what sex they are as long as they do the job right.

No problem with any of them. Best person for the job wins.

It doesn't matter what the person's sex is as long as he/she can do a great job.
