When I read this article I felt relieved http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070916/ap_on_fe_st/saggy_britches

I never liked the fashion from the outset, and the excuses to wear saggy pants, seem just lame..
The fashion trend started in prison for Christ's sake, then it moved on even to the NBA, where the players wear such baggy shorts nowadays, it is almost like they could hide a 'piece' in them, and shoot their opponent.

What the kids fail to realize is saggy pants, represents gayness. My son stopped sagging.

Instead of it being law why can/t it end at the schools. For example make the dresscode a requirement to always wear a belt whether or not you need it.Also for the guys who like to show boxers make it a requirement for underwear they only wear plain white briefs since this generation considers uncool to be seen wearing briefs they won't be tempted to let their pants sag.

WHY stop there??? We should pull out ALL the gaps and institute a national uniform... something combining the sumptuary laws of the Middle Ages and the dress codes of The Handmaiden's Tale should suit most of the SHEEP on here! I'm sure we can find SOMETHING that wouldn't offend a single person's sensibilities... long-sleeved one piece jumpsuits for men... a similar item for women but with a floor length skirt perhaps....?
Face it... no matter WHAT, someone is going to be offended... But in a supposedly "free" country, what sort of a message do these types of laws send?

Your either ashamed about the way your culture is or your proud of it, nothing less-nothing more. Being proud of prison life is your perogative. Personally the saggy pants wearing is a gesture of being proud of criminal activity. If that is what you want to portray than how about people wearing white sheets over their heads as a "fashion statement". I'll bet you criminals would be up in arms over that!

It's this generation's thing. Stupid, yes. How many have tried to run and have their pants fall down? It's ugly, uncultured and just strange to see guys constantly pulling up their pants just enough so they don't fall to their ankles. Why wear the dang things? Just wear the boxers, for crying out loud!

Keep the saggy pants. It makes the job of the police so much easier when criminals wearing these can't run, or they trip up on their own pants. Also, it's hilarious to watch this happen on America's Dumbest Criminals, so it should be kept for the entertainment value too.

i don't think it's needed. If people want to walk around looking like they just released a load in their pants, that's up to them. It's not like it's a new occurrance. Sagging has been going on for nearly 2 decades. Why do something like that now?

I think it's great. Personally, I don't like looking at drawls or crack. Honestly, I wish it would include these naked women who walk around every summer with clothing that leaves very little to the imagination.
