OK, First of there is nothing wrong with your brakes, there fine. All that happened is that if you hit your brakes at all that makes your brakes heat up from friction. It well happen to all cars, trucks, SUV, and vans. You have nothing to worry about.

Sometimes I wonder how and why people are allowed to drive on public roads. How about this; your brakes are dead as a door knob. Demand that the dealership give you a brand new 2008 Scion tC. Brakes should never heat up because excessive friction does NOT cause heat right?

i have an 07 manual tc with 28K on it and the only problem with the brakes i have seen is they start to wear out at around 28K. I upgraded to a set of Hawk pads and it is now perfect. i have never felt the car swerve under hard braking. I think the person that wrote that review has probably never even drove a tc.

The steam is just normal because when u slam on breakes the rotor and brake pad rub against each other with causes the rotor to be hotter and then u put cold water on em so then the steam came up....but u don't have to worry about it!!!

Your rotors or your pads may have just gotten wet. That could cause the steam. If you don't feel any difference in pressure when you step on the brakes you should be fine.

Lee-

Nothing to worry about. Brakes on all vehicles will do that under the right conditions.

Have a good look at your wheels on rainy days, they do the same thing after hitting puddles.

Nothing to worry about!
