No I always knew the song was involving doing something much better than licking a stamp. Maybe it's just me, maybe I am the perverted one. Maybe they do mean stamps, or envelopes. I really doubt it, but it's possible. I know I like the version I think of when I hear it the best. =) I'm so bad!! =(

They actually have stamps, now that you don't have to lick before you stick. You simply take off the piece of paper that is attached, to the back of the stamp and place it on the envelope.

Sorry, but i guess it is a good thing you only heard that one part, otherwise you may have been scarred for life... No it is not about stamps, and hopefully your old enough now to be ok with it...

I remember when i first heard just that part, and really wondering what it was about, i thought it was quite funny.

Even though I was kinda young when I first heard this song, I knew the lyrics had some sexual connotations behind them; I was a little older before I knew exactly what those were!

Now that we have mostly self-sticking stamps, it's a bit out of date

It sounds like a really, really, really good song about how our entire postal system works to help make this a better country, each and every day. Let's all sing along.

It comes from an old sorority girl joke. What do sorority girls and stamps have in common? You lick 'em, stick 'em, and send 'em on their way.

I don't know about that, but... I did have a friend who said, "the lick is better than the stick". Her stick figure drawings of it were hilarious!
