Simplify

u² v^(-2) / (u^4v)^(-1)

= u² v^(-2) / [(u^(-4)v^(-1)]

Now subtract powers of like terms between numerator and denominator.

= u^(2+4) / v^(-1+2)

= u^6 / v

(u^2)(v^-2)/[(u^4)( v)]^-1 =

[u^2/v^2]/1/[(u^4)( v)] =

(u^2)(u^4) (v)/v^2 =
u^6/v
