Last season (for the brief time they were together), Iverson made the mistake of stepping back for Carmelo. Carmelo needed more experience passing the ball and looking for open teammates. But what's done is done. Now, Iverson must step back.
Carmelo also learned a lot this summer and I think seeing his buddy Lebron in the Finals really fired him up. So whether you like it or not, Carmelo is the man now, and Iverson must be the sidekick.
They are a good combination, but they need a third guy for the triangle offense. Jordan and Pippen had Grant, Kerr, and Rodman. Shaq and Horry had Kobe, Fox, Fisher, and George. Magic and Kareem had Worthy. Bird and McHale had Parish and Walton. Dr. J and Moses Malone had Toney. Bill Russell had like 10 other guys to name, so I'll quit here!
Nearly every single championship team had at least 3 stars with the exception of Bill Walton and the 76-77 Trailblazers.

I think it's a good combination. Iverson has won pretty much every single personal awards in the NBA other than Sixth Man of the Year (which he'll probably never get) other than a championship ring. So he should and will step back for Carmelo.
As shown in All-Star and International games, Iverson can be a distributor and can set up his teammates. After witnessing Carmelo's scoring prowess and a whole training camp under their belt, I think those two will be able to mesh well together. They'll both be hungry.

As good as scorer as Allen Iverson is, I think that he should take a step back to Carmelo Anthony. Anthony is developing his game into a superstar level. Everyone already knows that Iverson can score on his own but it's about time for him to take a step back to make sure Anthony develops.

They're good partners that really need another reliable player down on the inside. Iverson and Carmelo are perimeter players, and their combination are a click! (Iverson has already taken the backseat (22.8 ppg) while Carmelo have taken the driver's seat (26.8 ppg). Iverson was seen to be sharing more ball this season and lowering his scoring average from a career average of 27 points to 22 points that's a big drop if that is what you meant by taking a step back.)
They have chemistry but for them to really crack down deep the play-of they need another good Big man. Marcus Camby is more of a defensive dynamo than a potential post threat (and with regards to the body size you'll know why) Nene is good but needs to add more strength and wit to be able to do the damage like Shaq and Tim does.
The Iverson-Anthony combination is a good one since both of them attract the defense. With Kenyon Martin out. And no real post threat (just hope Steven Hunter develops to be one or Nene) Denver would really have to rely more on this scoring duo which is kind of hard when defenses closes down on you.

i think of Allen Iverson. he's a n MVP participant that became waiting to hold a team on his returned to the finals. Iverson became the extra useful scorer and additionally commanded extra of a double team even at 6'0 ft tall. Iverson is likewise extra grasp and steps up in extra advantageous circumstances than Melo does. In Iverson's best, you need to anticipate him taking part in vast in a finals interest, like in interest a million against the Lakers while he had 48pts. He additionally became an incredible stealer and made performs for others. Melo hasn't shown he ought to step up interior the playoffs constantly with final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days being his merely solid playoff run. yet Melo is convalescing and he's making a acceptance for himself superb now. BQ: Iverson

Iverson should. Carmelo can improve so vastly in other parts of basketball than SHOOTING. Let Carmelo drop his point average to 25 and then he rebounds like 8 a game and passes for 6 assists. Thats a very "lebron like" type of game.

allen iverson should step down. he's already a veteran who i think could lead the team as a leader, carmelo could be the scorer.
they could be great. they have a good line up coming in this season
Camby
nene
anthony
iverson
atkins
jr smith can be good. kleiza can be good. najera can be good. the only thing that i think pulling them down is the salary cap eater kenyon martin. when he gets out of is contract, they could get much more in return with his salary.
