For me (I have 4 kids) it went this way - First 2-3 weeks early, second 4 days late, third 2 weeks and 2 days late, Fourth on time.
They come when they are ready. Unless your unhappy being pregnant (it seems like your enjoying it), or there are medical reasons, I suggest you just sit back and wait. Believe me none will stay in there forever.

The due date is not an exact. I had my baby 1 week early (sorry). I didn't know what to expect either. I never had braxton hicks contractions. My labor began with what felt like period cramps...just like them. Also, I had back pain. I thought maybe I should time my "back pains" and they turned out to be 5 min. apart...they were contractions. I waited a few hours until I saw my OB at a previously scheduled 39 week check-up and I was a finger tip dialated. But in labor none the less. . Within hours, they became more painful and after 12 hours my water broke...then they became unbearable...had a epideral and everything was all better. Baby arrives 4 hours later.
Good luck! It is an incredible experience that will happen when the time is right. I walked and walked for three days and I think that is what helped start my labor.

I'm one of those rare mommies. I was within a day of my due date with my first two pregnancies. With my first, my contractions woke me up. They weren't too bad, so I wrote down the time everytime I had one. Braxton hicks aren't suppossed to last an hour or more. It took me about four hours to become convinced that I was in labor. Strangely, I waited about twelve hours before checking into the hospital. I figured I'd enjoy the comforts of home before I was hooked up to machines and told what I could or couldn't do. It took 19 & 1/2 hours from start to finish. With my second, I left within 1/2 hour of my first contraction and was dialated to 7 by the time I got there. I was ready to push 3 hours after my first contraction. It took 5 & 1/2 hours because his head was stuck at my pubic bone. I'm very small, this doesn't happen to most people. I'm due on Oct. first with my third and I'm praying I'll make it there. Basically, if you contractions aren't too bad, keep track of them. If they are spaced evenly apart (ex. around 7 minutes) and last more than an hour, you're in labor. If you can't walk through your contraction, don't wait the hour, just go. I'm glad that your pregnancy went well for you, feel blessed. I have very easy pregnancies, but a lot of moms don't. About the tenderness, I'm not sure. Maybe your baby has moved into position. I can feel my babys' head just above my pubic bone. Put your hands down at the bottom of your belly and press gently. You may be able to feel yours too. It feels the same as you'd imagine a head would feel. Good luck, hope you have a good labor experience. You'll be meeting your little one soon. I was amazed at how much love I felt for this little person I'd just met. There's no other life experience that comes close.

I had 4 num1 was on time num 2 was 2 weeks over num 3 was 1week early num 4 was 1 week over you are just getting anxious which is normal just wait till you get a show or pains in the back around your kidneys that's what I felt or your waters will break or you will get a show. The last couple of weeks are the hardest because you are excited, scared and plain sick of everything about it go for a walk read a book anything to keep your mind occupied have you had the clean bug yet that is a really good sign it will happen soon.congrats and good luck your life will never be the same the day you walk into that hospital to have your beautiful baby.I was told to leave your dignity at the front door and pick it up on the way out and your life will never be the same.

Well I have three boys and to be honest with you my first was two weeks late and the tenderness is normal due to the pressure that is present from the baby, and when your body and the baby is ready it will happen unless your doctor thinks he want the baby to come out sooner then he will probably induce you. The first thing you will notice is a thick mucous plug with some red tinged blood with it, then usually the same day or a few after your water will break and most of the time you can go quickly. I wish you luck and relax your gonna do great.

I am so in the same boat as you! I am 39 weeks, 4 days pregnant. My cervix has thinned to almost 100% effaced however I am not dilated at all! My pregnancy has been so smooth as well which is wonderful of course. I still dont feel too heavily pregnant, and people all the time tell me I look really small for 9/10 months pregnant. Who knows!! But no, you won't be pregnant forever. I think you will have your baby on...............9/22! Just a guess, but it's always fun to estimate

Hey there, I know what you mean by not knowing when your baby is going to come out. I had the whole tenderness thing too, 'down there', an I too had it really bad in the morning and really bad when I turned in bed. When you sleep in bed you should sleep with a pillow in between your legs. It helped me!!The tenderness could just be because your baby is ready to come out, hes full term, an well, you may be carrying low. But lets face it...you are carrying around another human body. When the babys nearly 8 lbs, its not going to feel good once you have dropped. Your body will be ready to give birth soon. Soreness is a good sign. Just take it easy!!

The best thing you can do is to walk!! I am currently 36 weeks and 2 days, and I walk on a regular basis anyway, but since you are so close to your due date, I'm sure it'll be of great help to you. Also, my mom said when she was pregnant with me she walked up and down the stairs, and I came a short while after that. Another thing you can try is having sex(doctor recommended ) and that should help as well. I hope she comes soon....can't wait to meet my little girl eithter!! Good luck, and I hope you have a great birthing experience!!

My first son i went 2 weeks late, and then i we drove to the hospital and i admitted myself, because i was late, i was very thick then to so they had to induce me, the depo shot can make your cervix stay thick for a month or so after your due unless you get induced...
With this one i am pregnant now, and i am only 28 weeks, but i feel alot more happening, and it feels like it is going to be an early one... You never really know, but if your not having a bad time i would just relax and let it go naturally..
Good luck, and congratulations

I went on my due date. I was convinced I was going to go 2 weeks overdue and end up having to be induced! I didn't have braxton-hicks contractions, either, except on one occasion. It was pretty easy, but I still felt like he was never going to come out - and I *really* wanted him to! Sadly, though, he wasn't out long before I actually started to miss being pregnant. Enjoy it while it lasts, and good luck! =)
