It's possible your friend is ripping you off and giving you a cock and bull story as nobody sends cash through the mail. Sorry.

It's entirely possible that it's still in the mail and you'll get it Monday or Tuesday.

If your friend handed it to the mailman on Monday, it didn't get to the post office till that afternoon. So it's only been in the system for 4 days.

Of course, he could by telling tales or it could get stolen...

If it was cash, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. If was with a money order or check. Your friend can call the 1800 number on the receipt to trace the money order. They can cancel it if it hasn't been cashed and you can get another. If it was a check, your friend can do a stop payment and send you another. Never ever ever send cash through the mail. It is untraceable and can get stolen.

Welllllll. . . . It's possible that your friend never mailed the cash. It's possible that it is lost/stolen. Or, perhaps it's just taking a bit longer than usual, and you'll get it tomorrow. Really, it's not safe to send cash through the mail!!

Of course it's not a good idea but people do it and it should have arrived by now.
Since your friend claims he handed it directly to the mailman, the chances of the mailman losing it are slim.
I'd be willing to bet your friend is fibbing.

Cash? There are a lot of possibilities, ranging from that he didn't really send it to someone stole it along the way. If you don't get it tomorrow, chances aren't good that you ever will.

Hint: Do not send cash through the mail.

did he send you cash? or a check?

How far away is he?

If it's cash, and only a few towns away, the mail workers probably knew there was money in there, and stole it. You can't trust postal workers. They are basically mean and nasty hateful people who are one thread away from shooting everyone they see.

If I put a $100 in the mail , it would be certified .

Otherwise , not trackable , ergo . . . no recovery if lost .
Nothing you can do without a tracking # .

If he sent cash, you might never see that again.
