3x(y-2)+y(5-x) =
3xy - 6x + 5y - xy =
2xy - 6x + 5y

3x(y-2) + y(5-x)
3xy-6x+5y-xy
combine all the like terms--in this case it is just 3xy and -xy
therefore:
2xy-6x+5y which is typically written as 6x-2xy-5y

open it up 1st....
3x(y-2)+y(5-x) = 3xy -6x + 5y - xy
=2xy - 6x + 5y
=2x(y - 3) + 5y
