Is the Astronaut Farmer - with Billy Thorton, Virginia Madison, Max Thieriot - a good movie? On a scale from 1-10, what would you rate it?

i would give a 5... not a very good movie... you can predict what will happend ahead of time.. i know not a thriller but then... everything was so obvious... i dint enjoy...

Sorry but No there was not a Astronaut Farmer, it was a good movie, but just a movie thought up by some one thought up and Holly Wood made a picture of a Farmer that wanted to go into space. It is possible that something could happen just like that, one day a show, the next year some one has don it.

I'd give it an 8. It was a good movie, something you could watch with family or friends. You get caught up in it and start really rooting for Farmer (happens to be his name as well as his profession) - I got to see it in the theaters as a preview, and the audience clapped and cheered at points.
It isn't a 10 though... there are a few too many unbelieveable points to it. But for what it is, it is good.

I'd give it a 4.
I love Billy Bob and I love "space" movies, but this was maudlin pap of the worst kind. It tried way too hard to be "touching" and the characters were annoying as opposed to endearing.

5 It has a good cast and is a pleasant movie but it does not grab you in any way. It is a feel good movie that leaves you feeling like it pays to stick to your dreams. But, it is only a 5. Nothing special.

9.5. Very good movie. Rent it, or better yet, buy it if you have a family. It's a good gather the kids, a bowl of popcorn and a box of kleenex kind of movie. (It's a good cry, trust me)
