On a minor level, I sometimes put quarters in parking meters that are about to expire. I've done some other things, but since I don't stick around to find out the result, I'm not sure how they turned out. There was one exception that had two results. First, someone got paid for a job they did (so there was justice), but the party that tried to cheat them probably did not learn a lesson from it.

If I tell you then, the goal of remaining anonymous is defeated.

Regret is a particular perspective of a past event that assumes a different outcome. You help someone to get to the hospital and they don't express gratitude or they angry. If you regret the decision and action then, you may begin to understand your motivation in the event -- the acknowledgment.

I was the confidante for two friends who had a misunderstanding, & helped each of them to question why they assumed so much, when they knew each other so well. They're even better friends after getting over the "bump" & neither knows I had anything to do with it. Very good for them; definitely no regrets.

If I told you it wouldn't be special anymore. If it's a favor there aren't any regrets.
